Notes for Visiting Flyers

Non club flyers are allowed by invitation but are expected to join the Club if their visits are frequent. We ask you to observe our Club Rules to ensure a great and safe day out. You can see these at

Visitors wishing to fly on NT land at Whitesheet Hill must obtain prior permission from a WSRFC Committee member. Please visit our club contacts page for details. We are restricted to a maximum of 20 visitors a year and need to collate details of 'non- member' visits. If you enjoy your visit and are planning on returning, why not join us. Full details can be found on the Application Form page.

Our Club is licensed by the National Trust to fly on White Sheet Hill and we pay an annual licence fee for this privilege. Non club flyers are allowed by invitation but are expected to join the Club if their visits are frequent. It is a requirement that visitors have third party insurance that covers you for liabilities. Any White Sheet Radio Flying Club (WSRFC) Committee members or authorised official, reserve the right to ask for such proof on demand.Groups of flyers that wish to use our site must contact a committee member in advance to arrange a date as the slopes are used extensively throughout the year. It is advised that you read our 'events calendar' to ensure that we are not holding a competition on the date of your planned visit. As our competitions are usually well attended, you might have a long wait to obtain a peg!

The WSRFC Pegboard MUST be used. If you arrive to find no orange disc displayed outside of the Red Lion Inn in Whitesheet Lane, you must set up the disc and take the pegboard to the slope. The disc and pegboard are kept in the carport in the pub car park. On no account trouble the Landlord. If you are flying DS or cross country use an odd numbered frequency channel, clip the "DS/X Country" peg onto the pegboard handle, and leave the peg board in a prominent position in the lane at the top of the hill, usually next to the gate leading to the SW bowl.As our site has access to farmland we ask that you are considerate when parking your vehicle to ensure that you are not obstructing any access points. We would please ask you to take any litter home with you as there is no provision for waste disposal.
