Southwest Bowl 3rd June. Light south-south west
winds approximately 6 mph.
With a breeze in the SW the day was set fair for a good days flying. Fourteen scale flyers were assembled and at 10:00 Chris Williams was airborne demonstrating his Bergerfalk. With the breeze being on the light side it was decided to initially limit the number of models in the air to 4 at any one time. After the briefing at 11:00 conditions improved with the sun making an appearance setting off some thermal activity. This allowed the 22 scale models present to give a superb demonstration of the delights in scale flying. This was a “fun” event with no competition. So when conditions were too light for the scale planes, sport flying continued. This meant everyone had a good days flying, important considering some of the entrants had travelled long distances to be with us. By consensus the day was a great success and a repeat is eagerly anticipated. Thanks to all the flyers who supported the return of scale days to Whitesheet and to Jess Nichols for organising it.
